 Requesting Library Items

In order to use this feature of the on-line catalog, your library card must be in good standing and you must create a password in View Your Patron Record..


You may place a REQUEST for an item through Comsewogue's on-line catalog. You will then be notified by telephone when it is available for pickup. Please wait for this phone call.

When an item you wish to request is displayed on the screen...
  • Click on the Request Item button highlighted in red.
  • Be careful to select the correct item (book, large type, VHS, DVD, etc.).
  • Next screen: Enter your Barcode from the back of your library card, and your Password. Use the TAB key or click with the mouse to move between entry boxes.
  • Click on the Submit button to place the request.

  • In the case of a multi volume title, for example: Magazines
    • The next screen will ask you to Choose An Item From The List Below. If more than one item is listed, select the one you want by clicking in the circle to the left of the item.
    • Click on Request Selected Item.

  • The next screen will say, "Your request for title of your request was successful"
  • Click on the Return to Catalog or Regular Display button.
  • You will then be notified by telephone when your item is available for pickup.
If the status of an item is "Available" please call and ask a Librarian to hold the item.

Requests may not be placed for non-circulating items such as Reference Items.
